Etihad Airways Refund Rules

Effective immediately, a penalty fee of AED150 will be charged for any bookings cancelled within 96 hours of travel. Applies to all tickets originating from the UAE issued on/after 1 October 2020.

The penalty fee will be charged in addition to any general change or cancellation fee and also applies in instances where we have reissued or refunded the ticket as per our commercial waiver policy.

As part of the fare rules of the ticket, Sabre will automatically pick up the charge when a ticket has been reissued or refunded through AER.

Young Economy Class guests aged 12 to 16 are exempt from Air Passenger Duty (APD) when travelling from the United Kingdom.
If you made a booking on etihad.com and were charged the APD tax, you’re entitled to a full refund provided you meet the eligibility requirements listed below:

  • The flight has been purchased via etihad.com
  • The guest is between 12-16 years old at the time of travel
  • The flight is from a UK airport
  • The guest is travelling in Economy
  • We will refund the APD to your original form of payment.
  • For tickets purchased through travel agents and third-party websites, please contact them directly for a refund.
  • Non-nationals of Maldives – USD $30
  • Maldives nationals – USD $12
  • Non-nationals of Maldives – USD $30
  • Maldives nationals – USD $12

If you are a Maldivian national / Maldives passport holder and have paid the full USD $30, you’re entitled to apply for a refund of the difference (USD $18).
